This post took well over 8 hours, but well worth it. Raising Chefs is all about family bonding and cooking together and that’s exactly what we did from start to finish. First of all I just want to say thank you to Disney for asking us to participate in testing some of our favorite recipes from this amazing cookbook by our newest Disney Princess. This experience was so much fun for the entire family not only us girls. My husband’s been bragging about everything Disney and Raising Chefs to all his co-workers @ his new job. (Thank Lottie)
This particular recipe that we chose “Tiana’s Famous Beignets” was rated 5 frogs according to the cookbook and with good reason because you will be cooking with oil. However, for me I’m very comfortable with allowing my two older kiddos to fix these on their own because they’re both awesome in the kitchen and they’re always cooking with caution. So if you have kids and they choose to try this recipe, if they’re not as experienced in the kitchen as my older ones are then they will require your assistance.
As I mentioned above in our little photo-blog comic-strip (thanks Amature Gourmet for the great idea) we had a little time to make up some of our “Honey Butter Drizzle” which set those little puffs off to a new level. This was so much fun please keep checking back, I think the girls got their eyes or should I say their mouth set on making the “Yumbo Gumbo”….looks de-lish!
